Northern California Book Award Winners Announced
Earlier I posted about the NCBR’s awards ceremony and some of their nominees in six categories; theĀ full list of nominees and winners (highlighted in pink) can be found here. I had not previously heard of the fiction winner, Sylvia Brownrigg, for her novel The Delivery Room; nor did I expect that the General Nonfiction Award would go to Richard A. Muller for Physics for Future Presidents (I had been expecting that Frances Dinkelspiel would snag that one). Rusty Morrison took the poetry award (no surprise) and John Adams the memoir award. And the kid’s lit award went to Pamela S. Turner for A Life in the Wild. But most gratifyingly, the award in translation went to Katherine Silver for her translation of Horacio Castellano Moyas’s novel, Senselessness.
